After Hours Telephone Calls

One of our doctors is always available for emergency situations when our office is not open. Consequently this means that each of the doctors is on call every fifth night of the year. We want to be available to each of our patients, but we, in turn, will expect that you will limit after hours calls to those true emergencies, which cannot be handled when our office is open. True emergencies are those situations in which your best parental judgments dictates that your child’s problem cannot wait until the next morning.

All after hour’s calls are screened by specially trained pediatric nurses. These pediatric nurses are authorized to give phone advice about the treatment of illnesses. One of the physicians reviews every medical phone message for consistency and accuracy. Our pediatrician on call is always available to them for unusual problems or for patients who may need immediate medical care.
