Fees and Insurance
We would be happy to discuss and
explain our fee schedule with you. At the end
of each visit you will receive an itemized statement
for services rendered. To help keep our costs
(and fees) down, it is necessary that all co-pays,
deductibles, and charges for private pay patients
be paid at the time of service. Additionally,
you will need to present a current, valid insurance
card at each visit for us to photocopy.
**For your convenience, you may now e-mail our
business office at billing@cwpeds.com
with billing questions. You will receive a response
within 1 business day. Please include child’s
name, birth date, account number, and a daytime
telephone number.

A word about newborn charges . . . We
have learned that many insurance companies do
not pay for pediatrician’s newborn care.
Our office will file all newborn claims after
you provide us with the correct insurance information.
The new age of medical insurance coverage is more
complex and can be frustrating at times for both
physician’s offices and patients. Therefore,
it is vital that you understand your insurance
and its own individual requirements. As each employer
writes its own coverage, each employee must understand
how his or her insurance works. You should keep
a current list of participating physicians also.
You must add your baby to your insurance plan
within 30 days, no exceptions.
It is essential
that you understand the referral process for your
coverage. Many insurance companies may require
that you obtain a written or verbal referral from
us before seeking help from a specialist. These
referrals cannot be backdated. It is your responsibility
to contact our office prior to scheduling a visit
with a specialist. We may ask that you have your
child evaluated in our office prior to referral
if we have not previously evaluated the problem.
Regarding
Laboratory Services . . . Each insurance
company contracts with a lab to perform your outpatient
laboratory services and these contracts often
change from one calendar year to the next. Please
be aware of the contract requirements of
your insurance plan so that we can direct you
to the appropriate lab or facility for these labs.
One final note about fees . . .
If you are having difficulty making payments for
medical services, please feel free to talk to
our staff. Your child’s health is our most
important consideration and arrangements can be
worked out if there is a problem.
