Influenza Information 2011
The Influenza season is rapidly approaching. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends routine immunization for the flu. Each year the flu shot is designed to train your immune system to attack the strains of flu that we are likely to encounter during the season. Although you can still contract the flu despite a flu shot, your immune system will be primed to fight it off resulting in a less severe case of the flu. Vaccinated individuals arre less likely to be hospitalized or pass the virus to their loved ones.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that everyone under 18 years of age and anyone who lives in the house with a child be vaccinated. Vaccination can be by a nasal spray or an injection. CWPeds has an ample supply of both types of vaccine. We have arranged for a flu clinic on Saturday October 8th, 2011. Please emaill your names and a time between 8 and 11 to flu2011@cwpeds.com and we will arrange an appointment. We also provide flu vaccination through the week by appointment only. Please contact our office to arrange an appointment. Always feel free to call us if you have any concerns or questions.
